who we are
Centro Di (Centro di Documentazione Internazionale sulle arti – International Centre for Documentation on the Arts)
was founded in 1968 by Ferruccio and Alessandra Marchi with the dual intent of producing publications regarding the visual arts
and distributing them in Italy and abroad. In the 1970s and ‘80s particularly the publishing house, flanked by bookshop,
was renowned for its publication of innovative catalogues and the diffusion of art and artists’books.
Presently under the management of Ginevra Marchi, Centro Di continues its specialized publication of exhibition
and museum catalogues, monographs, convention proceedings and journals in the field of art history, architecture, archaeology, the decorative arts and restoration.
In 2018, together with curators Alberto Salvadori and Giacomo Zaganelli, it launched a new series dedicated to Italy, ‘XXI. Artists’ Guides’.
Centro Di also publishes the following journals: ‘Prospettiva’, in association with the universities of Siena and Napoli;
‘OPD Restauro’, the annual bulletin of the Opificio delle Pietre Dure; ‘Mitteilungen des kunsthistorischen Institutes in Florenz’,
edited by the Kunsthistorisches Institut in Florence.
