The Palazzo Capponi si one of the lesser known among the Florentine palazzi who carry the name of this great family- the Capponi- who between the XIV and XVI centuries held prominent political positions in the Florence Republic. In 1583, Ludovico Capponi who had acquired the Palazzo through marriage, commissioned Bernardino Poccetti the frescoes that decorate the Palazzo's central room. The frescoes are presented to the public for the first time by art historian Stefania Vasetti, in this lavishly illustrated volume that contains over 100 colour photographs.
